  • St Antony’s children and staff are recognised as London Living Wage employers

    Children at St Antony’s have campaigned, through their music videos, to promote the London Living Wage.  Staff at the school have supported children to understand the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and through their voice to raise issues of poverty and injustice.  Their work was recognised in an assembly and in the Newham Recorder.   • Armistice Day 2021

    Children representing the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy Trust joined with other schools in  Newham to remember those who died in World War I and other conflicts. The Last Post was played followed by the two minutes silence, which was reverently observed by all attending the service.  Monseigneur John Armitage presided and children from all the Trust schools read poems, prayers and reflections as  everyone remembered those who gave their lives for our freedoms.

  • Trustees & Senior Leaders Meeting across the Trust

    On Saturday 16 th  October governors, trustees and senior leaders across the Trust came together to review the successes of the previous year and spend time reflecting on the values, vision and mission of the Trust.  They also agreed on some next steps to ensure that all schools in the trust can provide the best education for all the children they serve.

  • Teachers working together across the Trust

    On 5 th October teachers from across the Trust and beyond, came together to start planning for a next year’s Citizenship themes. Discussions centred around Laudato Si (Praise Be to You) and Frattelli Tutti, (All Sisters and Brothers) two important recent letters from Pope Francis. Teachers are now planning in their schools to ensure the message is easy for children to understand and to help them understand their role as future citizens. Other groups of teachers are working together across the Trust to share new ideas and joint projects for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), inspirational uses for future information technology and improving standards across all phases in our schools.

  • Year 6 Camping 2021

    Children from year 6 in St Joachim’s and St Helen’s started the year by coming together for a camping experience near Lewes in East Sussex. The camp provided them with many learning opportunities including classification of plants and insects, archery and forest school activities. The children also enjoyed the studding East Sussex scenery when walking part of the South Down Way. They explored the beach near the Seven Sisters Cliffs to find discover nature along the shore line.

  • Father Denis Hall Football Competition

    Prayers were answered on the 9 th of July as the sun shone brightly over the 6 th Annual boys’ and girls’ football tournament, held in memory of Father Denis Hall. Teams from St Joachim’s, St Winefride’s, St Helen’s and St Edward’s were joined by the other Deanery Schools to compete for the St Edward’s Trophy. The referees from St Bonaventure's and St Angela’s completed the family gathering. The closely contested boys’ competition was evident in that that it was only goal difference which separated 1 st and 2 nd places with St Joachim’s taking the title.
