After months of hard work, both St Helen's Year 5 and St Joachim's Year 4 took part  in the Festival of Voices with four other schools, at the Hackney Empire. The children had been learning for months a repertoire of famous musical songs. This was the 17th Festival of Voices but the first one in two years after the pandemic. Apart from singing the many group songs such as the overture to the Sound of Music, both schools sang two individual songs. St Joachim's sang  ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ from Mary Poppins and ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Miserables. St Helen's Year 5 sang Circle of Life from the Lion King and Sit Down You are Rocking the Boat from the musical Guys and Dolls. Both schools performed amazingly and left the crowds speechless, as they annunciated their words and projected their voices so clearly and loudly. They left the audience in tears and showed great passion, excitement and professionalism.  Parents and staff were extremely proud of all the children for their magnificent performance as well as their effort throughout all the rehearsals. St Helen's and St Joachim's were amazing!
